What is Layette?
The dictionaries define layette as "a set of clothing for a newborn baby." With all due respect to Merriam Webster, that just doesn't seem to be a terribly helpful definition when considering the wide array of baby clothes that are available.
Baby clothes are definitely the most central factor of what is meant by Layette. But rather than what would often be considered "outerwear," think of it more as "everyday wear." You wouldn't consider a fancy dress for a baby girl to be a layette item, nor would you consider a tiny tuxedo or a vest for a baby boy to be a layette item. It's a rather subjective definition, unfortunately, but most people have an idea of what is meant by layette.

So Layette is a sort of basic, but cute, type of baby clothing that's geared toward newborns. As such, most Luvable Friends sizes are aimed at the youngest babies. Any baby clothes that have legs or pants are subject to different safety regulations, and so baby clothes of that nature are limited to sizes up to 9 months. Shirts or bodysuits that don't have legs, though, come in sizes as large as 24 months!
Baby clothes by Luvable Friends are made from the best quality possible while still remaining a good value. Babies grow quickly, and so it needs to stay affordable for you to dress your baby in great baby clothes without spending a fortune on clothing that the baby will only be able to wear for a few months at most. The more money you save, the less you need to work, and the more time you can spend with your little one!
